Hey Gang: there is a possible biplane/formula one race in the initial stages of planning for New Braunfels, Texas for 2010. A couple of folks in both classes have already indicated serious interest. This will only happen if there is enough interest, so if the idea of an additional place to play appeals to you, let the world know by this forum or AAFO forum or whatever. If the PRPA members exibit total apathy, nothin's gonna happen...for sure...

Casey and others:
go to AAFO, select "message boards", select "Air RAcin'", go down to "Biplane racing needs help" or something like that and there are 6 pages of interesting comments including stuff about a new venue.
Cheers...Zip

hello guys, here is what I've got on the race so far, about this time next year, still working out all the details , trying to see what our budget is going to be.if everyone interested could check in with me so I can get a rough head count that would be a good start.our plan is to get as much coverage as we can on the event.we are also trying to work out the entry fee/prize money part of this thing.we are thinking small entry fee as a deposit then a set amount of prize money for everyone just for being a part of the show, then we are going to try to get the rooms and gas covered. The idea here is you don't win alot ,but you don't spend alot.contact info is philip goforth 432-770-9913 or thegoforths@gci.net thanks all and we will keep in touch.

How would it work? What set of rules apply for the aircraft?

Would it be pylons with multiple aircraft on the course at once? or single airplane timed?

Can you post more details?

Kevin

is this hoped to be an annual event...or a one off kind of thing?

I'd be up for this if it was semi-local. One of the biggest challenges to establishing another round is the time taken on behalf of the pilots, spouses and families.
